Kenny graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from William Jessup University and has been working with clients as a drug and alcohol counselor since 2014. He first began counseling in the addiction field at the Salvation Army in Sacramento. He then worked at Valley Recovery Center for both the Intensive Outpatient and Inpatient programs. In August 2016, Kenny jumped at the opportunity to work for Recovery Happens Counseling Services, as he was well aware of the program’s impact in the community. Along with his experience of working with duel-diagnosis clients using talk therapy, Kenny has also been certified in Brainspotting, a therapeutic approach for complex trauma which helps clients enter into deeper levels of self-connection. Kenny strives to empower individuals and families toward holistic wellness; encompassing the mind, body, and soul. He desires to give back to others what was given to him: freedom from the slavery of chemicals and other unhealthy immediate gratifiers, intrinsic motivation, healthy interpersonal relationships, traumatic healing, belonging, psychological peace and physical well-being.
