Cheyenne Powning is a CCAPP Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician (RADT) currently in her final semester of internship for her Chemical Dependency Certification. She has attended the University of Oregon, University of Hawaii and Hawaii Pacific University, as well as being a very proud alumni of Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii. Having been inspired through her volunteer work at Sutter Memorial Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit, she found herself searching for a way to effect positive change in the lives of others. She began her career in recovery services by joining Recovery Happens in June of 2017 after working previously in the legal field and as a private yoga instructor. Having attended multiple trainings on meditation, mindfulness and body awareness as well as continuing education with the Prison Yoga Project, Cheyenne now brings her expertise to our Mindful Meditation Group to facilitate the resilience and grounding of our clients. As an addiction counselor, Cheyenne seeks to facilitate the process of change through recovery with a focus on empathy, compassion and accountability.
