Amy Sowers is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor under the supervision of Dr. Angela Chanter, Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Amy is also the Program Director of Equine Therapy here at Recovery Happens, bringing together two of her passions: horses and emotional wellness. Amy is devoted to helping individuals, couples, and families discover courage and clarity throughout the many seasons of life. She offers treatment for anxiety, depression, substance abuse, trauma, teen issues, marital/relationship issues, grief and loss, stress management, and spiritual growth. Her past clinical experience includes working in a residential treatment center and at UC Davis Children’s hospital specializing in adolescent trauma. Amy received her Bachelors degree in Psychology at William Jessup University and graduated in 2017 from Western Seminary for completion of her Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Valuing authenticity, compassion, and space for humor for the soul, Amy leads with kindness and commitment in walking with her clients through change and healing.
