The Parent
Education Class is held on a Saturday from 9:00 am - Noon. It
is a one-time 3 hour class for parents/guardians of drug-using
kids of all ages. I usually offer the class only once every 6
-7 weeks.
If you are
a parent of a drug-using teen or young adult, then this is an
important class for you.
Experience
shows that parents of drug-using kids are in need of education
and support. Parents have a crucial role in the intervention
and on-going recovery process. Whether or not the drug-user thinks
they have a problem or wants to get help, intervention can occur.
One goal of this class is to help parents understand how they
can initially help their child recognize drug use as a problem
in their life.
